The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald This book does a good job in conveying the spirit of the roaring 20s for those who were lucky enough to be part of the carefree and spoiled upper class. However, I remain puzzled as to why this particular novel has gone into the history books as one of the great American novels, if not the Greatest American Novel. In all honesty I find the writing to be incoherent, floaty and quite a bit dull. I was by no means impressed but rather disappointed.
